Workshop Water supply network in danger

Water travels a complex path from the source to the tap and back to nature. Pupils will explore each step and discover what can happen when a problem occurs.

What happened? A water infrastructure failure is threatening the entire city and the cause needs to be identified. Students, as investigators, will analyze available information, follow clues, and determine whether human error, technological failure, or something else is behind the crisis. The workshop scenario is inspired by a real event that took place in the Czech Republic, which adds authenticity to the whole activity.

During the workshop, students will work with recordings of fictional interviews, analyze water analyses, and examine distribution network plans. In this way, they will uncover the cause of contamination and understand the process of how water travels from the source to the treatment plant, distribution and treatment.

The programme combines exciting investigative work with the development of critical thinking, teamwork and an understanding of the importance of water infrastructure to everyday life. Take on the challenge and discover how human activity and technology can affect water quality and availability.

Workshop vede ke spoluodpovědnosti k místu, kde člověk žije a motivuje ho k zodpovědnému chování v běžných každodenních činnostech.
