Workshop Detective search of the Drop Jarmila

The children will become detectives and together with Jarmila, they will search for her lost friend Drahomír, who has disappeared somewhere in the town (village). During their search, the children will go to different places and learn why water is important in the city and how it helps us there. They will find out where they can find water and why it is crucial to capture it properly. They'll also experience first-hand how to build a house using elements of blue-green infrastructure to make their house efficient and pleasant to live in.

Nowadays we are increasingly experiencing extreme weather events and long periods of significant warm weather are no exception. The topic of blue-green infrastructure and adaptation to new climatic conditions will play a key role in the future to improve the quality of life in human settlements. With full respect for the complexity of this issue, we decided to involve even the youngest children. The Detective Investigation of the Drop Jarmila workshop is based on the Framework Curriculum for Pre-School Education. When creating the workshop, we drew on the latest findings, mainly from pedagogy and psychology, but also from other disciplines. Although the topic of blue-green infrastructure may seem complex, we present it to children in a playful way and aim for their experience. We involve children in all activities and encourage their natural curiosity. Our chosen way of conveying new information contributes to better and easier understanding, memorisation and future use.
